So 2026 is here and it felt like the right time to put a new spin on our site, moving it out of 8th grade presentation mode! Also finding a major need to re-energize our approach to online selling to once again see if we can make a GO of this. Long story short... we didn't know what we were doing and this year may (or may not) be any better... BUT we're going to give it another shot.
That being said, last year wasn't awful. We had a lot of great customers purchasing cribbage boards, rocking chairs and even a few of the Big Foot decor. I've enjoyed working with the customers to get designs proofs approved just how they like them and their purchases to them in a timely manner. We're hoping to transition more to Shopify instead of Etsy, but are still working through what that looks like. Tik Tok store eludes me... I don't get it but I guess it doesn't hurt so I've just left it alone for now. Marketing and advertising is something that we'll need to figure out, but that will be a February goal.
This month (Jan) I've signed up for some local bazaars and am taking an epoxy table workshop, as I'd really like to make small scale items like coasters and end tables. Wish me luck and watch for the new products as they get figured out. I am also committing to weekly posts about what's going on with the shop. So also this month - a new roof and insulation! Nothing like a good rain storm to show you where all the leaks are. Definitely not things that sell but these will make a big difference in how we operate long term.
